About Us The Natural Living Alliance began as an idea conceived from the heart of a local holistic health practitioner, Pam Youngquist, in 2004. The concept was born from the realization that St. Johns County is full of cutting-edge practitioners, intelligent educators and resourceful individuals all living, or endeavoring to live, with sustainable and holistic principles as their guidance. It became apparent however that there was no common ground that brought these like-minded people together within the county. No place existed to allow such a community to come together. Thus, in March 2005, the NLA formed, with a handful of dedicated and enthusiastic individuals in St. Johns County, Florida. These individuals declared that they value community, clean air and water, green spaces, nutritious food, personal health, alternative education, and art as their greatest resources. The desire to share these resources with one another and the county at large propelled our development. In 2006, the Natural Living Alliance gained its 501c3 non-profit organization status. The Natural Living Alliance endeavors to provide opportunities for exchanging information among its members and collaborative organizations, educating the public of St. Johns County about natural living principles, and most significantly, encouraging its members to serve as examples of these principles in their own lives. We accomplish these objectives by providing community educational events and projects, classes, workshops and exchanges; supporting existing organizations and businesses while creating liaisons in partnership with them. Therefore, the mission statement of this organization maintains that it endeavors to bring about community awareness of sustainable lifestyles through example, exchange, and education. We welcome people from all manner of backgrounds and orientations that find alignment with our mission statement. |
